You got a lot of nerve hanging out with those french fries

I notice that Katie didn't comment on my blog yesterday, so I'm automatically assuming that means she's gone into labor. And, yes, I realize how big that makes my head sound, but I'm really just very excited for her to have her baby. Not only do I think her baby is going to be adorable, but I'm always interested to hear a first-hand account of what childbirth is like. Me, I'm wishing they still did it like they did in the 50's where they knocked you out, then next thing you know, you wake up and there's a baby staring up at you from a crib next to your bed. What was wrong with that? Like my Mom always says, "No pain, no pain."

I'm so glad it's Friday. J's going to be working on the kitchen most of the weekend, and I intend to offer plenty of moral support by napping on the couch. I don't know how that's going to work, but that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Wow! Keep me posted if Katie did have her baby! That is so exciting!
I know it is hard to tell someone who is pregnant that they will be fine when giving birth b/c everyone has a very different experience, but I can tell you it is TRUE about forgetting! I absolutely can't imagine giving birth without an epidural and I had a long labor and pushed for a long time but once my Darvaset prescription (for the pain and is safe to use when nursing)ran out, my mind was already glossing over the whole process. :) Kenny remembers it much more vividly than I do because he WASN'T drugged! hee hee! (sorry for the extra long comment today!)

Don't be sorry--I love to hear stuff like this! I have a feeling I'll try to ask for as many drugs as I can possibly get. It sounds like it's easier on everybody that way...except the husband, I guess :)

I'm sorry to report that I did not have the baby, just didn't have anything useful/creative to add to the blog yesterday!

I'm with Ann- why can't I just wake up one day and there he will be, all snug in his cradle?

I had really bad pain in my hips last night like he was stretching them apart and I thought for sure we were heading to the hospital! But this made me realize that I am a much bigger wimp than I originally thought and will probably be asking for that epidural the second I walk into the hospital.

Yay for drugs!! But with Kass my epidural didn't take on the left side because I have a slight scoliosis so the line was compressed by vertebrae. They emptied about 10 syringes of drugs directly into my epidural line when it was close to time to push and it worked great. With Liam I saw a chiropractor from 31 weeks, and he even came to my delivery room to adjust my back prior to them breaking my water (I was induced both times). I had no problems with the epidural the second time.

I have plenty of stories, but I'm sure your friends/sisters have good ones too!!!

Did I miss details, when are you due???

Oh, ok, Katie, I hope I didn't put any more pressure on you there. It was really just me being hopeful :) And sorry to hear about that hip pain. That sounds awful!

Ha! I don't feel any pressure b/c there is nothing about this I can control. Fear and anxiety yes, but no pressure!

Alisa asked me to send out daily "not in labor" emails so you guys know :)

That's an excellent idea. Like a baby bulletin.

I think Katie needs a blog. With updates and photos. Don't you agree, Ann? Unless she already has one that only certain 'cool' friends know about. Maybe I'm the uncool friend!!! Thanks Katie. Now I see how it is.

Even though we are pretty uncool, I just can't imagine Katie would do that to us...heh.

Um, no, you guys are cool, um, yeah, sure you are...

Is this Blog thing that you speak of difficult? Do I have to be techno saavy to do this? I know how to comment on yours, but that's about it!

I too want to be on the daily 'not in labor' list! I'm totally uncool since I can't even respond to the blogs at times... but i'm trying to get better. Maybe once we get a laptop at home, I'll get more involved!
