I have to push the pram a lot

I'm just going to admit it: I hate musicals. I keep trying to convince myself that I could like them, but I believe I'm fighting a losing battle here. I was watching a rerun of Family Guy last night, and at one point, the kids break into a rendition of the "So long, farewell" song from The Sound of Music, and the minute I heard the music playing in the background, I groaned. I hate it when people break into song. And that was even a funny satire on one of my favorite shows. I'm quite sure that if I ever do sit down and try to watch Chicago or Moulin Rouge, I'll gouge myself in the ears with a ballpoint pen. It's pretty much the same feeling I get when I accidentally hear country music or any song by Linkin Park. It's ear gouging time!

I agree with you, Ann, about musicals...there is just something so awkward about switching between regular dialogue and then all of a sudden singing. I never saw CHicago or Moulin Rouge for that reason. Don't agree with you about country music, though, it is fun! :)

I'll admit I've got some weird prejudice against country music. I won't even give it a shot. It's one thing I'm completely closed-minded about, and I'm not proud of that. Although I did like the music in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Does that count?

Did you ever see the musical Scrubs episode? Blech.

I loved the musical Scrubs episode! 'Course I like some musicals too! :-) Country music I can listen too, but not for long.

I didn't even like the musical Buffy episode, and that was one of my favorite shows ever.

Chicago kind of worked because it was in Renee's imagination. But yeah, mostly breaking into song seems very awkward but I still enjoy a good musical. I didn't care for the Buffy musical at all and it's one of the most famous episodes. And actually my favorite episode of Buffy was the one where they didn't speak. That was cool.

Oooh, that was a very cool Buffy. I always liked the one where she found out Dawn wasn't really her sister.

That was my other favorite episode. Such a darn good show. This makes me miss Katie. If she didn't have a newborn I know she'd be weighing in on this conversation.

Katie watched Buffy, too? I'll tell you something, I never understood the attraction to Spike. As much as I liked that character, I could never believe Buffy would like him back. And I'm still sad about Jenny Calendar.

HELLO ALL! Logan is sleeping so I have a minute, and then I'm going to go sleep too!

I love musicals, so I am the opposite of Ann. Although, I've never been able to make it past the first 10 minutes of Moulin Rouge.

Loved Buffy and LOVED the musical Buffy, mostly for its cheese factor- Mike bought me the soundtrack as a joke- I also love it when people who shouldn't sing try to. Best line is from Willow "I think this line is mostly filler" Hush is also an amazing episode- didn't it at least get nominated for some awards? We are (well were) working our way through season 6 on DVD and I cringe every time Buffy and Spike get near eachother. It is just not natural!

We are hanging in here- Mike and I are both exhausted, I am still sore from my c-section, and nursing is not easy, but we are getting the hang of it! I told my mom the other day that she is getting a MUCH better mother's day present from me next year!

I hope you are all doing well! Sorry to use Ann's blog for this update but I am still having issues with my email.

So I guess I'm the only one who really liked Spike. I didn't think he and Buffy should have been together but I adored that character.

Glad to hear that you're doing well! Give baby Logan a Hello from his USC Aunties!
